Work History...

Since graduating in 2006, Katie joined the well established and locally well respected Amersham Chiropractic Clinic in Buckinghamshire. At Amersham Katie was part of a multidisciplinary team working with two other chiropractors, a massage therapist and a podiatrist. The large well known clinic was a fantastic opportunity for Katie to gain unrivalled experience in treating many hundreds of patients of different ages and with many different complaints.

In addition to this Katie also set up and managed the rehabilitation programme that is available at the Amersham Chiropractic Clinic. Katie also played a significant role in helping the clinic to achieve two national awards from the College of Chiropractors. These awards recognise the clinic's high standard of excellence in patient care and clinical management and Katie is excited about providing the same high standards of care at the Melksham Family Chiropractic Centre.

In 2012, Kate moved to Melksham with her husband Rob to set up their own chiropractic centre. She continued to work part-time in Amersham, until she became full time in Melksham in 2013.

Chiropractic Interests...

Katie enjoys all aspects of chiropractic healthcare and helping each individual to achieve their own health goals. Since her student days Katie has had a special interest in the treatment of pregnant women, babies and children stemming from her involvement in the 'paediatrics club' and her own undergraduate research project in the subject area. Katie's research which investigated the safety of chiropractic treatment for children under three years of age was published in the peer reviewed Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics in 2008.

Katie also has a keen interest in the management of sports-related complaints ranging from treating acute injuries to injury prevention and performance enhancement. Katie was a competitive swimmer to county level between the ages of 6 and 16 and has always felt her experience of being part of a swimming club from a young age gave her the mind-set to continue on leading a healthy and active life. Her Chiropractic career has helped her to build on her beliefs that a healthy lifestyle is vital for optimum wellbeing and Katie is passionate about helping people on how to select the right healthy lifestyle choices.
